Zyscovich Architects is searching for a Sr. Proposal Coordinator / Writer to contribute to its highly innovative and diverse team of professionals.
The ideal candidate is a positive, creative individual with the ability to think critically and to work across multiple platforms (print, presentation, etc.) to create materials that compellingly communicate the firm’s value to our clients.
Works with the Director of Marketing and department staff to prepare content for proposals, presentations, award submissions, etc.
Interviews technical staff and subsequently writes resumes, boilerplate information, project descriptions, award submissions, and copy for web, brochures, and print, etc.
Works with technical staff to develop proposal sections and scopes of work.
Edits and formats content written by others for contracts, specifications, requests for proposals, and reports, ensuring consistency in writing style and approach throughout various procurement documents, authored by different authors
Determines proposal concept/content by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for qualifications/proposals (RFQ/Ps); attending strategy meetings.
Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval
Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
Develops proposal narratives by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
Maintains quality results by using templates and following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.
Coordinates and maintains marketing files including correspondence, data, and other relevant materials. Reviews project information for accuracy.
Assists in preparing presentations by evaluating text.
EXCELLENT WRITING SKILLS are critical to this position. You MUST submit a minimum of three (3) original writing samples.
Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in marketing in the A/E/C industry with experience in writing and responding to proposals (i.e.: RFP, RFQ, LOI). Degreed architectural candidates with SUPERIOR writing skills lacking marketing experience will be strongly considered.
Bachelor’s degree required; post-graduate degree is a plus.
Ability to read, comprehend and execute proposal instructions and responses, tailoring responses to effectively communicate proposal strategy.
Ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Attention to detail and highly-organized.
Self-starter, able to work independently and able to multi-task in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment. You must work well under pressure and be able to occasionally work irregular hours to meet deadlines.
